New line of zodiac necklaces coming soon…

I’m currently in the process of designing a new series of silver pendants that I’m really excited about. It’s a project idea that I’ve had for a long time, and I’ve finally gotten around to it. This line will feature signs of the zodiac. Who doesn’t love seeing their astrological sign on a silver pendant?!

I have spent hours over the past couple weeks with pen to paper, drawing out the smallest details of each astrological sign. This has proven to be quite challenging, since some of the signs of the zodiac are apparently really hard to draw! I’m thrilled with the results and can’t wait to see what they look like transferred onto the silver. I am hoping to have some of them listed in my Etsy shop as soon as tomorrow.

So what’s with the poppies?

My love of poppies borders on an obsession. I just think they are the most beautiful flowers in the world. I love how they look so delicate and fragile, yet grow so wild and strong.

My company used to be called Coqueli Co, which was a play on words for the French “coquelicot”, meaning poppy. Needless to say, it was a difficult word for non-French speakers to read and remember, so in the interest of good business, I reluctantly had to let that name go. Having a cool last name like Istanbul, though, I decided to re-launch my business under my own name.

So the long and short of it is that the poppies are vestiges of my former logo that I just love too much to leave behind.
