Waiting for a home...

I never seem to find the time to create all the ideas I have swimming about in my brain. I had, up until recently, been amassing quite the little collection of stones. They're just too pretty to not buy. Alas, there's been a self-imposed ban preventing me from buying any more cabochons until I take these babies and turn them into jewelry once and for all.

Sigh...

What can I say? Time is an elusive thing when you're a work at home mom trying to keep up with a sprightly little 2-year old.

All very important things, indeed.

I love making jewelry. It's really a passion (cooking is another). But my daughter comes first. In the less than 2 hours I have to myself during the day (her nap time), I consider it a good thing if I've kept up with a few Etsy orders and commissioned pieces. Creating new designs takes time, and inevitably always falls by the wayside.

One of these days (hopefully sooner than later), maybe I'll find the time to do something lovely with these stones.

My two are 8 and 11. They still get my attention. They deserve it.

Lovely photos.

By focusing on what is important (your daughter), your designs will even be more special when you do create them. Glad you see what is important. It will mean the world to her.

That tea party looks way more important than any business stuff to me :) I count my blessings every day that I could share those things with my kids as they were growing up. (My baby just graduated high school, and it goes by way too fast) Enjoy!

Your dish full of stones reminds me of me :) I have the same compulsion to buy more stones than I have the time to make into jewelry. Your priorities are in the right place, however, and the stones in your collection can wait.

I like your blog!
Cheers,
Andria

What a sweet little girl and post! There will be plenty of time for jewelry making, but that darling little girl will grow up before you know it :) My "little" boy is nearly 28 and that has gone by WAY too fast :)

Love your work and blog!

OMG! I totally feel you on this one. I usually create when my son is napping or asleep. I figure I won't get this time back with him so I better enjoy it!

He'll be going to preschool this year for 2 hours, 3 times a week. I am excited for him and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm excited for me to have a bit more experimental time as well!

Aw, thank you Rosy. I don't know why this topic always makes me feel emotional. I just sprung another little tear at your comment. Your supportive words mean so much to me. It helps to know we're not going through it alone.
