On this path
This morning the Road called out to me,
the gentle Zephyr whispered,
and the Magnolia leaves chimed in:
"....you know it's been too long...
since you've communed with these ancient Oaks
who have so much to teach you
about the stillness
that comes with determination and intent
...it's been too long...
since you've risen to the challenge of these paved hills,
and felt the pounding of your heart
drum in unison with
There is peace that comes with solitude and reflection.
There is fortitude that comes with courage and adversity.
Strong and steady
on this path that is my own.

There are no strings attached.
You've definitely inspired me -- I skipped my run today, and I'm for sure going to go tomorrow.
beautiful imagery inspired by your lovely words
Beautiful... xoxo, MR
Beautiful entry. It's nice to step back and reflect once in awhile.
SIGH...I miss running in that kind of scenery. If I were still in Boston I'd be running along the Charles appreciating the start of the turn of foliage and getting a dose of the first cool Fall air. I hope it was a great run! I...settled for 40 minutes on the treadmill and elliptical :(
My knees won't let me run, but I have a wonderful trail near my house -- and a walk there feels like I have entered another century. It is so very peaceful -- just the feeling your lovely poem evokes! Thank you for sharing.
Wow I am truly amazed at how people have such great willpower. One day I hope that I too can find the same willpower to get out there and run.
Love this poem. Reminds me exercising in the morning in my neighborhood before everyone is up and moving around.
Thanks for visiting my blog =)
that's beautiful, Alice!!!xoxo
