Ripe for the Pickin'
We took a wee road trip up to farm country yesterday in the great state of Georgia. Just 1.5 hours north of Atlanta is Ellijay - "home of the Georgia Apple Festival"... and orchards galore. October is apple picking time in these parts, and that's exactly what we spent the day doing.
Harvest time. These 2 are coming home with me.
She mutters to herself: "reach, rrrreach, rrrrrrrrreach" as she wills that apple into her hand. So darn cute.
Ahh, much easier from this height.
Sorting through our bag of goods.
Voulez-vous des pommes?
Pies to come.
P.S. - Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians today. Have a little turkey and gravy for me, k?
P.P.S. - The Oakhurst Festival on Saturday was grrrrreat! We thought we were supposed to have scattered thunderstorms all day, but we dodged the bad weather, and had nothing but sun and fun. So many friends stopped by to say hello, which I love, so thank you so much (Jamie, Vyviane, Amy, Merrill, Sonia, Delias, Cat, et al. - hope I didn't forget anyone)
My daughter wasn't the only one in fairy wings on Saturday. He's showing me the rhinstones on his fishnets. I love it! :)

Love your apple pics! We need to make another trip to our orchard. We ate them all gone!
I love picking apples! We don't have many places to do it in, here in the desert though.
I love apple pickin'...used to do it a Lot when I lived in NY...
That looks like so much fun and what great memories. I have apples on the table (don't look anywhere as delicious as yours) and they're going into a pie today :)
Happy Monday!

looks like fun....now I want apple pie:)
We adore apples in our house. I wish there were some orchards near here where we could do some picking (apple that is). Apple pie sounds even better. I love your new fairy friend :)
Today is Canadian Thanksgiving and I'm trying to see if I'm together enough to pull off a turkey dinner and a homemade apple pie....but it's 2:36 pm and I haven't even made a grocery list yet. This could be challenging.
Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! And I bet the apples are so yummy!
Alicia, so glad you had a great show and avoided the weather, way to go!
