The road called life

I am many things.

I am a mother, a wife, a sister, a friend.

I am also:
an artist,
a procrastinator,
a foodie,
a traveller,
and a lover of expensive shoes.

I am:
a marathon runner - determined and ambitious.

I revel in the challenge of difficult things, because there is gratification that comes with accomplishment. And because accomplishment makes me feel whole. Running is one of those things that makes me feel that way.

For me running is like metaphor for life. The more you put into it, the more you get out of it.  There are times when it can be challenging, and also times when you can coast along fancy free.  My advice?

Take it all in stride.
Rise up to the challenge of the hills.
Slow down to enjoy the scenery, but not enough to lose momentum.
Keep your eyes on the road ahead.

And remember, the path you're on is your very own.

Own it.

Limbering up before hitting the pavement
Limber up before meeting the challenge

I get lost in the cadenced pounding of my feet and the measured rhythm of my breath
Keep the pace

Going for a mid-November run
The direction you go is up to you

Transition
Be sure to take in the beauty of it all
along the way

I make these impossible hills yield to *me*
Know that just when you feel like giving up on something
is when pushing through counts the most

You will always come out stronger for it on the other side

Coasting along
There's nothing wrong with slowing down every now and then

Feet planted firmly on solid ground
But I always know my direction
And apparently I wear mismatched socks when I'm out running, too.

A beautiful thought to start the day on. Guess what I'll be doing in a couple of hours...did you guess? I'm by far not a marathoner...but I like to do my share of...well...jogging anyway.
