Work in Progress Wednesday - Spiral Within

I woke up this morning and knew it would be a day for creating something grand.

And sure enough, it's been one of those delicious days when everything just falls into place.

I got out of bed, fed the child, kissed the husband off to work, answered some emails while enjoying my breakfast of strong coffee, and then skipped on down to the studio to make, make, make something totally brand new.

The inspiration for this ring was borne of the peaceful and introspective weekend I spent up in the mountains with my friends a couple weeks ago. Its physical construction actually took place this morning. Here you have before you a pictorial of exactly what I did today between 9:30am and 12:30pm.

Spirals are an ancient universal symbol. They represent the winding pathway to one's center and the awakening that happens  when you connect with your consciousness.  But, hey there, let's not get too deep into philosophy and spirituality on this Wednesday afternoon.  I've got some work in progress pictures to show you, after all.

Everything starts off as ideas scribbled in my notebook.

in the company of my Little One and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

An almost-finished ring, looking very naked without its patina.

Finished!

More detail on the back: hand drawn swirls and signature poppy tag.
You know I love to add little secret elements to my rings.

I love this new piece,
from the uniqueness of it...

It will be available in my Etsy shop this weekend.

Thanks for popping on by, friends. Enjoy this rest of your day -  hope you're having a great one!

Be sure to visit my blog tomorrow (Thursday, November 19th) when I'll be announcing a completely-crazy-one-day-only-birthday-sale.

Oh, and I'm 3 Etsy shop sales away from 1,000.  Imagine hitting my thousandth sale on my birthday...how serendipitous :)

These are my favorite posts-- I love to see your imagination and talent at work. Beautiful!

And if you ever have to punch someone in the nose, imagine the lovely imprint reminding him where to find truth.
