Work in Progress Wednesday - Tiny frosted earrings
This one's quick and simple. I was talking to my Mom this morning and she asked me to make her a little pair of earrings to bring up to Toronto with me at Christmas. I made these for my brother's fiance last year and my Mom's requesting a pair of her own.
Here's a little step-by-step photo shoot from this morning:
Materials: 18 gauge sterling silver sheet, sterling silver ear posts and nuts.
Step 1 - cut.
the company of a little woodland sprite never hurts.
Step 2 - dap.
Step 3 - melt solder onto posts.
Step 4 - solder posts onto earrings.
Step 5 - clean
while multi-tasking on the phone.
Step 6 - apply the frosted finish
with eye protection.
It's as easy as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. See?
Ok, we're about to get in the car for our road trip to Alabama. Thanksgiving family reunion time, hoooray!

So beautiful. As ever, I covet your ability to make cool stuff by the seat of your pants.
Happy Thanksgiving! Drive safely!
ps. I wore that necklace today, too. You have fabulous taste!
Happy Thanksgiving, love!!! : ) Sweet home Alabama!
I'm not a jeweler - always wanted to try it and it's still on my list - but I was wondering where you got your desk from? Is that hand made or tailor made, it's very cool! I love seeing other studio spaces! I need to get pics of mine up one of these days! Love visits from little woodland sprites too as I have 2 of my own that visit frequently!
I've got a stump too!!!!! A cottonwood stump.....
Thanks, friends :)
Kerry, my desk is like an "official jeweler's bench" of some sort. I bought it second hand from my local jeweler supply store. They are not cheap, but you can find them anywhere, just google "jewelers work bench". Good luck!
Jillian, this one's an oak. It's a little short, but better than nothing.
