How to Tuesday - herbal infusions

I do so like to imbibe strange green concoctions. This is something I started doing recently.  Having herbal infusions.  It's different than herbal tea because it's made with lots of herbs, lots of water, and it steeps for at least 4 hours.  I make them in the morning, and drink them late in the afternoon.

And this is how:

Herbs and mason jar
All you need is herbs, a mason jar, and boiling water.
My favorite infusion is a blend of nettles and oatstraw.
Sometimes I add a pinch of elder berries if I feel a sniffle coming on.
And now I'm tapping my knuckles to wood as I tell you that
I have yet to get sick this winter.

One ounce herbs to one quart water
One ounce of herbs to one quart of boiling water.

Seal and let sit for at least 4 hours
Lid it, and let it sit for at least 4 hours.

Strain the leaves and such
Strain the leaves.
Every hot drink is made better by the Mirth Mug.

squeeze out the liquid
Squeeze out the last bit of liquid.

Enjoy
Enjoy!

I believe in the healthful properties of herbs, but please do your research before you start taking herbs.

Mmm that looks lovely. I am a big herbal tea drinker. It does wonders for my ongoing digestive problems. You look so pretty!
