Holiday Happiness
Well, Happy New Year to ya!
Wow, spend two days in a car driving back from Toronto to Atlanta, and before you know it, it's January 4th, eh? (Wow, spend 8 days in Canada, and start saying "eh" again, eh?)
Did you have a nice holiday? I sure did. Did you eat a lot? I sure did (well, I also squeezed in a few workouts here and there. Pants still fit. *thumbs up*).
As always, we had a great visit with my huge, huge Italian/Armenian family. It was a jam-packed trip with night after night of parties, fun times, music, drink, and a nonstop parade of food. Here are some pics of my 8 days in my hometown of Toronto.
Snow
My new sweater.
Yes, my parents like to remind me where I'm from.
Family
Siblings. Do we look alike?
Fooooooood
the multi-cultural delicacies that I love going home toItalian Christmas Eve seafood dinner antipasto- marinated octopus salad.
I ate the lobster tails and shrimp before I could take pictures of it.
At my Armenian aunt's house.
Can't get this stuff in Atlanta, that's for sure.
At my brother's house making my famous Bloody Marys.
Gingerbread cookies
from scratchTime for little hands to make holiday cookies.
My SweetPea and my nephew.
Cutting shapes out of dough.
Just look at the artistry in my 2.5 year-old :)
Decorating cookies with Nonna.
So cute!
Taking full advantage of this rare chance to eat candy.
My cookie.
I don't know who had more fun making these, me or the kids.
New Year's Eve bash
Raw oyster down the hatch (yes, I'm an omnivore).
3 generations of Istanbul girls.
We all love to party.
Leave it to my family to turn a popular disco song into a "shourch bar".
So that was my holiday in a nutshell. Hope you had a GREAT one, too. And Happy 2010 to you!

Can't go North of the border and not have one of these.
I like to order it "double double" (for my non-Canadian readers, that's double cream, double sugar).
I like my coffee like I like my food: rrrrrich!

I just LOVE your Canada sweater! Also, I think you are quite brave for having a plate with octopus legs on it in front of you... :)
Wow, great post! It looks like you had an awesome holiday, full of family and fun. Thanks for sharing it with us! :)
Where did you have New Year's? It looked like fun. Also, I'm going to have to get me one of those sweaters too. Also, got your card and OMG is Gracie ever your twin! She looks exactly like you did as a child! Amazing. Love you to your whole fam.
Nad
Yes, the sweater is a new favorite (favourite) for sure. And I leave my hair curly and clip the bangs back just so I can look more like Grace sometimes :) LOVED your holiday card, too, Nad. We went to Premiere Banquet Hall in Richmond Hill.
Welcome back Alicia! Happy new Year!
I can't believe you drove that! I thought Boston to Texas was long :) I'd never do it with both kids now. You shared some great pictures!! I miss the Armenian and Greek food I used to get in Boston. I love that you even make gorgeous cookies. Oh and...I never knew you wore braces!
Happy New Year, Lisa :)
And to you, too, Alyssa. Yes, I wear braces, for one more year! And a long drive like that with a 2 year old is made possible thanks to a portable DVD player that only comes out on 2-day road trips.
Your holidays look like it was great fun. And the ginger cookies look so cute. I love your jewelry by the way. It's stunning!
Happy 2010 Madame! You look wonderful in the tiara : ) I am just trying to crawl into 2010, the week zoomed by in a good way.
